At the 5th Bebington Scout Group, we rely on volunteers to run our sections. Please find a little bit more about our team of leaders below;
Mark – Group Scout Leader
Sections – Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs
I have been with group since a beaver at the age 5. I went through each section of the 5th til’ the age of 16 when I should have moved on the District explorers but that wasn’t for me so i stayed with the 5th to help out with the beavers and the cubs. At 18, I took on the role of Assistant Cub Scout leader and I stayed in this role for 3 years before moving to Scouts to help restart the section. 7 years later, I was to come back to cubs and took on the role of Cub Scout Leader. Alongside this role, 4 years ago a took on the role of Group Scout Leader and started to oversee the running of all the sections in the group itself.
Sandra – Beaver Section Leader
Sections – Squirrels, Beavers
Dan – Section Leader, Cubs
Sections – Cubs, Scouts
I joined the group as early as I could, aged 6 in 2006 as a Beaver. From then, I worked my way through the Cubs and Scouts sections, until I reached age 14 when I became a young leader. Initially, I took on the role of Cub Scout leader whilst continuing to attend Scouts to lend a hand. Since then, my primary role has become the Cubs Section Leader, however I also lead the Scout group too. The best part about Scouting is the residential and outdoor activities, including things like camping, rock climbing, kayaking and much more – all of which beat sitting at home watching TV!
