Welcome to 5th Bebington Beavers

Welcome to 5th Bebington Beavers.
I’m Sandra Wellings and I am the Beaver Leader

Beavers are our youngest members, and we meet on a Tuesday evening generally for an hour and a half. Beavers enjoy all that Scouting has to offer; being introduced to outdoor activities, having the opportunity to be creative, explore their local community and experience the excitement of a Beaver Scout sleepover with their friends.

The Beaver Colony is the first and youngest section of the Scout Group. Beaver Scouts are young people boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years old.  There is core flexibility in the age range:  young people can join from age 5¾, and can move to Cubs between age 7½ and 8½.

Activities

During their time in the Colony, Beavers will get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well enjoying trips, days out, and going on sleepovers. Participation, is the key approach, and there are a range of badges and challenge awards that Beaver Scouts can gain to recognise their achievements.

The Uniform.

The Beaver uniform consists mainly of a turquoise sweat shirt which is worn with black trousers or joggers. The Beavers will be awarded with the neckerchief when they are invested into the group.

Scouting is available to people of all faiths as well as people who are humanist, atheist or have no affirmed faith and therefore must therefore take account of the different religious obligations or non religious beliefs of its Members.

Similarly, people of other nationalities resident in the United
Kingdom, who may become Members of the Association, owe allegiance to their own Country.
To meet these circumstances, there are different variations of the Beaver Scout, Cub Scout and Scout Promise that can be made, allowing for the
individuals’ obligations while upholding the essential spirit of the Promise.
